Simes, Lance Nathaniel-July 23, 2010

Lance Nathaniel SIMES, age 93, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010, at his home.

Lance was born in Hebron, Illinois on June 6, 1917, the son of Fred and Minnie (Redlin) Simes. On Ocotober 25, 1951, Lance married Frances Millard in North Dakota. Lance was a gas transporter for the Midland Co-op, and also farmed for many years. Lance was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitewater. He was a man of many talents with notable accomplishments such as building his own home and shop, furniture making and also mechanical abilities. 

Surviving are: Wife: Frances Simes, Whitewater, WI, Three Children: Mary Simes, Madison, WI, Jeff (Diana) Simes, Whitewater, WI, and Anita Simes, Kaukauna, WI, Two Grandsons: Jered (Sarah) Simes, Kaukauna, WI, and Chad (Sara) Simes, LaGrange, WI, Brother: Gale (Dorothy) Simes, Elkhorn, WI, Sister: Glenna Rast, CA, Sisters-in-Law: Mardy Simes, Janesville, WI, Beatrice Kleimenhagen, Ruth (Lorraine) Orrick, and Harriett Millard. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lance was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dale and a sister Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 26, 2010, at 11:00AM at the First United Methodist Church, Whitewater, Wisconsin with Rev. David Kalas officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville, Wisconsin.

Friends may call after 9:00AM on Monday at the church until the services.

    My deepest sympathy and prayers to the family on your loss. Lance was a man I had a lot of respect for. I first met Lance when I worked for McLay Auto Parts. And later when he was helping Jeff on septics. He will be missed by many.
