Welter, Ruth Marie-July 22, 2011

Ruth Marie Welter, age 80 of Whitewater, died on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Whitewater.

She was born November 25, 1930 the daughter of Harley and Thelma (Sandberg) Riggs. Ruth married Reinhard Welter, “the love of her life” on October 4, 1947. Together they farmed in rural Whitewater, and also traveled to many destinations including Germany. She was a wonderful mom and grandma who was often heard saying “soft lips and tight hugs”.

Survivors include her husband of Whitewater.

Phil (Kris) Welter

15 Grandchildren

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Russell and Harley Riggs, and one sister: Lorraine Townsend.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater with Rev. Kendell Nordstrom officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 and also from 10-11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
