Donald Clarence Buckingham, age 87,of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 at his home.
Donald was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on February 17, 1925, the son of Clarence and Frieda (Riess) Buckingham.
He has resided in the Fort Atkinson area all his life. Donald served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
On September 23, 1947, Donald married Dolores Hanson in Rockford, Illinois.
Donald worked as a truck driver for 10 years prior to working as an assembler for 35 years at General Motors in Janesville, WI.
Donald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, the Edwin Frohmader VFW Post #1879 and the Paul Frank Florine American Legion Post #166. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: His Wife: Dolores Buckingham, Fort Atkinson, WI, His Children: Byron D. (Jean) Buckingham, Fort Atkinson, WI, Treva D. Merson, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Donette M. (David) Kutz, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Steven, Rachelle, and Holly, Brother: Howard (Nathalie) Buckingham, Fort Atkinson, WI, Sister: Nancy Jorgensen, Jefferson, WI, Brother: Allen (Lynn) Buckingham, Albuquerque, NM, and Sister: Linda Buckingham, Fort Atkinson, WI, He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Cara Jean and Barbara Ann.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 05, 2012, at 11:00AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Barrie Street, Fort Atkinson,WI with Rev. Bryan Engfer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Friends may call after 9:30AM on Saturday at the church until the services.

Delores, Byron, Treva, Donette, and the rest of the family, please accept my sincere condolences in the passing of Donald. Although I haven’t seen him, or any of you for that matter over the past several years, I do have many memories that I continue to hold dear.
